Teacher

One Full Round for Teachers was born from lived experience, frustration, and a deep sense that something has to change for women working in education.

We started this campaign because teaching is a profession sustained by women, yet too often it fails to sustain them in return. Across the UK, women educators are leaving classrooms not because they lack commitment or passion, but because the system makes it impossible to remain while navigating discrimination, burnout, and the profound realities of female health and fertility.

For both of the founders of One Full Round, this became heartbreakingly personal.

One Full Round for Teachers exists to challenge the harsh reality of trying to teach while undergoing fertility treatment, and to campaign for meaningful, funded fertility leave so that no teacher has to choose between building a family and staying in the career they love.

WHY ONE FULL ROUND?

Why One Full Round?

IVF is a physically and emotionally demanding process.
A single IVF cycle involves weeks of invasive hormone treatment, medical appointments, procedures, and recovery — all of which are time-sensitive and unpredictable. Teachers, already managing high workloads and fixed timetables, often face impossible choices between their health and their job. One full round of paid leave allows them to prioritise their fertility treatment without risking burnout, guilt, or professional penalty.
